"Noelle" is our little Christmas miracle.  After several years of miscarriages, stillbirths and not settling at all, I was ready to give up on ever getting kids from her dam, Oddity, and planned to stop trying to breed her at all.  Oddity had other ideas and forced her way into the breeding pen while another doe was being bred.  I still assumed it wouldn't matter, I hadn't even seen evidence that Oddity had even been bred then, but I marked the date just in case.  As months passed, it became obvious Oddity was in fact pregnant but still I didn't hold my breath.  As the days got closer, however, I started to hope.  Things actually seemed to be progressing normally and I could feel strong kicks from her kids, unlike previous years.  Then on Christmas Day, while we were opening presents with the kids, Oddity delivered living buck/doe twins - her first kids since she was a yearling, on her own 7th birthday.  Naturally, Noelle was an automatic keeper and we can't wait to how this little girl grows up.
